Introduction

The year 2011 holds many surprises to Indian super bike crazy fans. The sports bike segment has seen introductions by Kawasaki in the form of Ninja 250R, Yamaha in the form of YZF R15, and Honda CBR250R in the 250 cc category.
Having said that, India would be witnessing the launch of a number of super bikes in 2011, and we are talking about super bikes which look cool and are technologically advanced too. One such name is Suzuki that is introducing the Suzuki GSXR 1000 in India.
The year 2001, saw the birth of Suzuki GSXR 1000. It was eventually replaced by GSXR 1100 and underwent many modifications since its inception. It is now available in India. Bikes like Yamaha VMAX, Honda CBR 1000RR, Honda CB 1000R and Yamaha YZF R1 are strong competitors in this category. India sees the launch of 2010 edition of the GSXR 1000.
There are three models of Suzuki GSXR available in the Indian market namely Suzuki GSXR 1000, Suzuki GSXR 750 and Suzuki GSXR 600.
Suzuki GSXR 1000 in India

Engine

The Suzuki GSXR 1000 in India is powered by an engine capacity of 999 cc. The engine of the strong Suzuki GSXR 1000 comes with a four stroke, four cylinder, liquid cooled, DOHC valve configuration, fuel injected powertrain. The displacement is 999 cc. The very powerful engine produces a top power of 160 bhp at 9500 rpm and churns out a maximum torque of 110 Nm at 8000 rpm. Transmission is six-speed manual gearbox in the Suzuki GSXR 1000 with electric ignition, electric start.
MotoGP type brakes and suspensions are incorporated into the mighty Suzuki GSXR 1000. Radial mount four piston callipers, disc front brake, and rear one piston calliper disc brakes constitute the Suzuki GSXR 1000. The front fork is inverted telescopic and of spring preload fully adjustable type. The rear is link type that is spring preloaded fully adjustable, oil damped.

Design and Styling

Styling of the Suzuki GSXR 1000 in India is aggressive that includes strong fairing, two seat/twin tail lamp and sharp and bold nose. Instrument panel consists of the digital dashboard. The bike has titanium mufflers on both the sides.
Suzuki GSXR 1000 in India has the largest wheelbase and fatter tyres. The tail lamp cluster houses the rear turn indicators and the front turn indicators are integrated in the rear view mirrors.
